It helps maintain a consistent yarn tension while protecting your fingers from friction and strain.
Please Note: These tension rings come in assorted random handle colors Color fulfillment is randomized per order.
How to Wear the Ring
- Placement: Place the ring onto the index finger of your non-dominant hand (the hand you use to feed the yarn).
- Orientation: For right-handed crafters, slide it on with the zigzags facing up towards your fingernail. For left-handed crafters, face them down.
- Fit: Adjust the metal loops by gently squeezing or expanding them. It should sit comfortably below your knuckle without pinching.
How to Thread the Yarn
Depending on the yarn thickness and how tight you want your stitches to be, you can guide the yarn through the ring in different ways:
- Standard/Medium Tension:
- Slide the yarn underneath the bottom spiral loop.
- Bring it up and let it pass through the open space between the ring band and your finger.
- Tighter Tension (Great for thin crochet thread):
- Pass the yarn underneath the bottom loop.
- Wrap it completely around the ring band one extra time before feeding it over your finger.
- Loose Tension (Great for bulky/thick yarn):
- Simply guide the working yarn straight through one of the center zigzag waves
- without fully wrapping it around the loops.
Once threaded, relax your tension hand and let the ring do the work of guiding the yarn as you stitch!
